Region & Fishery
Ever wonder how Cherrystones got their name? Virginia’s Cherrystone Creek watershed, part of the Chesapeake Bay watershed, produces a large Cherrystone Clam harvest every year.
You’ll really enjoy Cherrystones raw on the half shell with a squeeze of lemon and perhaps your favorite hot sauce. We also recommend steaming them with a medium bodied beer and a “seafood boil” mixture of spices.
Clams are a low fat, high protein seafood choice with an above average amount of healthful minerals such as Selenium, Zinc, Iron and Magnesium and B Vitamins like Niacin.
