The ancient Romans adored oysters. They imported them from all over the Empire, sending slaves to gather them from the English Channel.
For many the perfect cocktail oyster, the Sewansecott is recommended raw on the half shell, with a bit of lemon to balance out the salt and enhance the sweet. They may also be enjoyed simply roasted or grilled on the half shell.
Sewansecott Oysters are low in fat and high in protein. They also boast a good source of Selenium, Zinc, Iron and Magnesium and B Vitamins, as well as Omega-3 fatty acids.
