Red Grouper, like a number of other Grouper species, begin life as females, with some later transforming into males.
Most lovers of Red Grouper grill or fry it. You may also poach, steam, bake, broil or sauté it, but keep the spice to a minimum since its flavor is a bit milder than other types of Grouper. It’s also excellent in soups or chowders.
