Squid - Fresh, Wild, USA, T&T
Squid are fleshy, soft and cigar shaped with eight tentacles and two fins on either side. Like Cuttlefish, you’ll find them chewy in texture and mildly sweet in flavor.
Region & Fishery
Squid can range from 1 inch to the seldom seen, and rumored, 100 foot monsters of the Atlantic Ocean!
Cut the Squid tubes into rings and fry them, along with the tentacles, coated with a light batter. Or quickly sauté them with lots of onions and black pepper. You may also stuff the whole tubes and braise them in a white wine sauce. Keep cooking time brief.
Squid are a nutritious seafood, noted as a rich source of proteins, Omega-3, B Vitamins and minerals such as Copper, Zinc and Iodine.
